DHL Shows Interest in Cargo Transportation Through Baku-Tbilisi-Karsi Railroad

Another major German company may launch cargo transportation through Georgian corridor.

DHL German transportation-logistics company is interested in cargo transportation between Asia and Europe through Baku-Tbilisi-Karsi railway.

 The issue was discussed at the meeting between the director of Azerbaijan Railway company and manager of Shanghai branch of DHL.

At the meeting in China, the parties discussed TransCaspian route development and perspectives and noted that this route is a part of South-West transportation corridor.

Cargo transportation volume will increase after Baku-Tbilisi-Karsi railway is put into exploitation, while cargo supply time between Europe and Asia will be reduced, the Parties noted at the meeting.

As reported, DHL German logistics company is the market leader. The company operates in 220 countries and serves 1 million consumers an hour.
