Semiramida Gardens Complex to Open in Batumi in 2017

The opening of the Semiramida Gardens complex in Batumi has been postponed till 2017. As reported, the  complex was planned to open in the spring of this year, but the Azerbaijani company "MAF” engaged in the project  asked the Ministry  of Finance and Economy to extend the terms of construction.
 
According to the Ministry, the company made a commitment to put the  complex into operation  until August 31, 2017. The hotel construction is completed, while the  inner works are underway. In addition, the Azerbaijani company is obliged to make  additional 10 million dollars investment in the project.
 
"Commersant" was told at the Azerbaijani company "MAF"  that they are not anything to do with this project and know nothing about it.
 
In 2015 it was said that a five-star hotel would be designed for middle and upper segment while which brand to operate the hotel was unknown.
 
Then it was announced that  about   $ 35 million are planned to be spent on the project.
 
“The construction has been completed, and now internal works are  in progress. A 12-story building will consist of  159 rooms meant for  at least two people. Three swimming pools, a spa center and a casino are going to be open in the hotel as well as  the Winter Gardenswill be arranged,” – representattives of the company said in March 2015.
 
 
Construction of Semiramida Gardens holiday complex began in 2010. The foundation stone was laid by the then  President Mikheil Saakashvili.
