There will be protected territories organized between Racha, Oni and Ambrolauri. According to the head of Agency of Protected territories, Lasha Moistsrapishvili, currently, there takes place a supervisory checking of the region.

Moistsrapishvili said that it is not clear how much territory the part will occupy but it will be located between Oni and Ambrolauri and it will be 40 000 Hectares.

When the research process is completed in spring, we will prepare draft law and discuss it with locals as well. Local municipalities, NGOs and all people who are interested will be involved in the process. Afterwards, draft law will be given to Ministry of Environmental Protection and territory will receive the status. 

Whether or not, the part will receive the status of National Park is still a question but Moistsrapishvili says that it should be National Park Status.

Currently, there are 10 National Parks and 14 Reservations.
