Georgia Earned 391 mln USD From Tourism in August

Revenues from tourism increased by 33.6% in August, – Deputy Economy Minister said.

According to Nino Javakhadze, the country received 390.9 million USD from tourism in August, the figure is more by 92.9 million comparing to the last year.

It is noteworthy that 1080449 visitors crossed Georgian border, increase is 27.4 percent y-o-y, at that 573368 visits were made for a tourist purposes.

The tourist increase was positively reflected on the hotel and restaurant growth, which contributed to the economy expansion. It has amounted to 4.3% in August. The average growth of 8 months is 4.7%.
