According to the results of a study conducted by PMCG Research, the average price of rooms in 3-star hotels in Georgia makes GEL 124.

In the words of the head of the Georgian Association of Guides Ketevan Meladze, high prices in the hotel sector are associated with a deficit of hotels and high demand.

"In any region of Georgia, all hotels are almost full, and as soon as the number of hotels grows, competition will increase and prices will begin to fall. The market will regulate everything but it  will take 2-3 years,"- she says.

The situation is complicated by the fact that very few wealthy tourists arrive  in Georgia - the country is mainly visited by the middle class which is limited in spending.

"Georgia is rarely visited by the  tourists who stay in 4-star hotels. Mostly poor tourists come to our country," Ketevan Meladze notes.

Nevertheless, the average price of the hotel room is GEL 124, in the regions  , rooms can cost GEL 220-320 per day.

As for 5-star hotels, the  average price of the  room reaches  GEL 373. The maximum cost was fixed in Tbilisi, namely GEL  649.
