426 Hotels and More than 400 Restaurants will Serve Tourists in Adjara This Season

The tourist season in the Black Sea region officially started on June 3 and a large influx of tourists is expected this year as well.
According to Tamar Kaikatsishvili, the head of the Tourism Department of Adjara, the region meets the new tourist season with new directions, routes, hotels and restaurants.

In mid-July Batumi will host  a traditional international jazz festival.

To date 426 officially registered hotels and hostels of various categories and  designed for all segments as well as more than 400 catering facilities are operating in Adjara.

In Tamar Kaikatsishvili’s words, 15-20% more tourists than in 2017 are expected to visit Adjara in 2018.
"A total of 1, 513 million international visitors visited Adjara in 2018, this year we expect their number to grow by  15-20%," she explains.

The statistics show growth in the period before the start of the tourist season - in particular, in the first 3 months of 2018, the number of foreign visitors at Batumi airport grew by 61%.

"The growth is observed mainly due to traditional leaders - Russia, Ukraine, Turkey, Israel, the Baltic countries. The number of visitors from Germany and Poland is also growing. We hope that the dynamics will be growing  in the summer, "- Kaikatsishvili notes.
