The construction of a 100-room Radisson RED hotel in Chavchavadze Avenue # 23 in Tbilisi will be launched this August and the hotel will be opened in the second half of 2019. About $ 10 million will be invested in the project.
Commerce Group has solved all the problems with the City Hall that prevented Rezidor Hotel Group from entering the country.
David Kodua, one of the founders of Commerce Group, says in a conversation with Commersant that he met with Vice-Mayor Irakli Khmaladze several days ago to clarify the final details of the brand's entry to the market. The businessman is currently agreeing the details with the City Hall’s Architecture Service. The construction is carried out by Anagi company.
"Vice-Mayor Irakli Khmaladze believes that the country needs such kind of hotel," Davit Kodua notes.
Initially, the businessman had problems with the residents living nearby the hotel.
The Radisson RED brand is part of Rezidor Hotel Group. According to Executive Vice President, Eastern Europe is the fastest growing market for travel and tourism, while Georgia is one of the fastest growing tourist destinations in the region.
"We are happy to expand our activity in Tbilisi and bring a new brand- Radisson RED. We believe that Radisson RED on Chavchavadze Avenue will bring hospitality to a whole new level in Georgia, " Executive Vice President says.
