Batumi Nominated for Award of World Travel Awards

Batumi has been nominated for one of the influential awards – World Travel Awards – in the category of Europe’s leading and growing tourism destination.

The winner will be named on June 8.

Representatives of Adjara Tourism and Resorts Department noted that Batumi are among the following competitors: Sophia (Bulgaria), Matera (Italy), Baku (Azerbaijan), Ljubljana (Slovakia) and Kutna Hora (Czech Republic).

„The event assembles hospitality sector experts and tourism sector influential bodies from all over the world and they are involved in the decision-making process. They will name the best tourism destinations and countries. Thousands of nominees are nominated in hundreds of categories due to continents and countries, including hotels, travel agencies, tourism attractions, , tour operators, sea, air transport companies and so on”.

“World Travel Awards” was established in 1993. The winners will be named in Madeira, Portugal, on June 8.
