South African Boers will develop other industries in Georgia except for agriculture. By that time up to 200 Boers are staying in the country. Commersant.ge was told by the Deputy State Minister on Diaspora Issues of Georgia Nika Avaliani, the Boers arrived in Georgia on their own initiative and they had also carried out up to 10 real estate transactions in different regions of the country.

“Some bought land, some buy houses in Georgia, "- Avaliani notes. According to him, the Boers purchased the area of ​​1 000 hectares in Gardabani and employed about 10 people in the farm, whose number will increase after the harvest. The Boer acquired territories in Kakheti as well, including vineyards and decided to team up with local farmers.

According to the Deputy State Minister on Diaspora Issues Nika Avaliani, up to 30 companies of the Boers have been registered in Georgia and they will also develop other sectors, except for agriculture, however, at this stage Avaliani does not specify the development of which sectors African Boers will provide for.

Note: State Minister on Diaspora Issues signed a Memorandum on Cooperation with the South African Agricultural Union in early 2011.
