Georgia Expects 4 800 Sea Tourists This Year Famous cruise company to finish design of Batumi port in September

The world famous cruise company "Royal Caribbean" will finish design of Batumi port in September. Adjara Tourism Agency informs the work on design of the port enters the final phase and Batumi will be able to take large cruise ships.

Department officials say the current season the port plans to service 14 cruise ships, entry of 8 vessels has been officially confirmed, while negotiations with the remaining 6 are underway. According to the department, Georgia expects 4 800 sea tourists this year.

Note: The government of Adjara signed an agreement with "Royal Caribbean" regarding working on plan of Batumi port reconstruction late last year. Adjara government doesn’t rule out that a part of investments in the reconstruction of the port will be made by the company. "Royal Caribbean" controls 25% of the world cruise market.
