Disaster not had Impact on Tourist Tours in Kakheti

Kakheti disaster has not influenced the scheduled tours in Telavi. Moreover, travel agencies note that this year the interest of foreign tourists in Kakheti has increased. As commersant.ge was told at “Omnes Tour”, the tours in Telavi are planned a few months earlier.

“Omnes Tour” representatives explains that Telavi tours are mostly 2 - days and demand for the short tours is observed both from local and foreign tourists, prices are determined by the number of people within the group.

Telavi Tourism Information Center also denies the impact of natural disaster. The center representative notes that this year the number of tourists has increased compared to the previous year and tourists from the Baltic states, the U.S., Germany, Ukraine and Russia visit Telavi.

"In particular, the number of Russian tourists has increased this year and they are all sorry for what happened," – Telavi Tourism Information Center informs.

Note: 2012 was announced Kakheti Tourism year. Upon the initiative of the National Tourism Agency, Kakheti tourism brand was created as well as the logo where cultural, adventure and wine tourism are major destinations.
