To cover the distance from Rustavi city exit to the center of Tbilisi will be available for 7 minutes. The President of Georgia said at the opening of Tbilisi – Rustavi 17 - kilometer highway construction.

"This is truly a historic event for Tbilisi and Rustavi because these two very different and unique cities will be connected,"- Saakashvili said.

He said that hundreds and thousands of Rustavi and Tbilisi residents will be employed on the highway construction.

"I am proud that this highway will be finished by my second presidential term expiration, but we also intend to continue other construction processes. We are going to build Georgia for the next many years. I have expected this day for a long time and today I am happy," - the President said.
