More than 2.2 million people have visited Georgia since the beginning of the year

According to the National Administration of Tourism of Georgia during seven months of 2012 the number of foreign visitors in Georgia increased by 54% and reached 2, 211 million people compared to the same period in 2011 (1, 438 million).

During the reported period, Georgia was visited by 920 704 visitors from Europe (480, 758 thousand visitors for the same period last year).

1,187,000 visitors arrived in Georgia from CIS countries, more than 32% compared to the same period in 2011 (896 338 000). Also 19, 315,000 U.S. citizens visited Georgia, which is 19% increase compared to the same period of 2011 (16.189 thousand).

According to the number of visitors to Georgia Turkey - 810, 698,000 is the leader, 107% more compared to the same period of 2011 (391.937 thousand).In the second place is Azerbaijan – with 483, 317,000 visitors (up 29%, 375, 700 000), the third - Armenia, 408, 109 000 (22%, 335.290 million).

237.950 thousand Russian visitors came to Georgia for the reported seven months , it is 81% more than for the same period last year (131, 730,000).
