Director of the National Tourism Agency Ready to Cooperate with a New Government

Foreign tourists canceled the reservation in hotels and travel agencies in Georgia in the pre-election period - commersant.ge was told by Director of the National Tourism Agency Maia Sidamonidze. She notes that a large number of reservations was canceled, but according to September data, 400 thousand international visitors arrived in Georgia that is 56% more than in the last 9 months of the current year.

Sidamonidze states that the scheduled conferences were canceled as well, which might be undesirable for a private business, but the Director hopes that the situation will improve in the coming months and growing dynamic of visitors will maintain.

“Democratic elections were held in the country. This will have a positive impact on tourists and the number of visitors will not reduce in the country, "- Sidamonidze adds.

She also spoke about the prospects of future relations between the new government and the National Tourism Agency.

In her words, she was appointed as the Tourism Agency's Director via competition and if tourism theme remains a priority for the new government the agency is ready to cooperate with them.
