Ukrainian Supermarket Chain Enters Georgian Market

The Ukrainian stores network "Fourshet" plans to open a supermarket in Georgia in the near future. The new store will work on franchising and will start functioning by the end of the current year. The information was placed on the company’s site.

"Fourshet" strategy which is based on "home purchase" principle envisages the network development as a result of franchisee sales.

"The network’s experience and knowledge is invested in the network brand, business processes organizing, products quality control and customer service, which are very important factors for a successful new business " - the company's web site says.

"Fourshet" is the first national supermarket chain in Ukraine which has the best standards of service. It is one of the Ukraine's largest retail companies.

The company started working in 1992. In 1998, it opened the first national wholesale - retail store "Fourshet" in the center of Kiev.

At the stage the network includes 115 stores. Ten of them are located in Moldova.

"Fourshet" manufactures products under its own trademark – canned goods, juices, sunflower oil, confectionery and so on.

As for Georgia, as per the information commersant.ge holds, "Fourshet" will open its first supermarket in Kutaisi, later the network will be expanded in Tbilisi.
