A new scandal might erupt around the former building of the justice ministry. Several companies leased spaces in the building, including "Sony Center" which was forced to leave the building in November 2006 and, as "Sony" Georgian representatives said then, the company had received a huge loss. A few months ago, the former building of the ministry was purchased by the company owned by a businessman Roman Pipia at the auction announced by economic ministry which plans to place a hotel there.

However, the building owners applied to the General Prosecutor in order to return the property. A lawyer Soso Baratashvili explains the radio "Commersant" that the former owner of the building is a private person who has filed a suit in the court at the time, however, it has not been considered in the first instance. Baratashvili notes, Roman Pipia’s company had to be informed that the owner of the former building of justice ministry had a dispute with the state as the media had reported about this a few days before the auction. Therefore, the lawyer thinks that Pipia’s company cannot be considered as a legal buyer.
