Despite the disapproval of a part of society, construction of Music and Drama Theatre on Rike is being carried out and will be completed in the spring of 2013. The Tbilisi Mayor's Office informs commersant.ge but doesn’t talk about the details of the project.

Consequently, the amount allocated from the capital budget for the theater construction as well as for how many people it will be meant for is unknown. As the City Hall states, the Music and Drama Theatre construction is expected to be completed in April next year.

As for the architectural side of the project, the Architects' Union Chairman David Abuladze says that the theater is not completely dropped out of Rike development plan as new and old architecture is presented on Rike and the Music and Drama Theatre is a new architectural building - construction, which is consistent with other modern facilities.

Note: President Mikheil Saakashvili and the Mayor Gigi Ugulava laid a foundation for construction of Music and Drama Theatre on Rike. The project was designed by the Italian architect Massimiliano Fuchs, who personally arrived in Tbilisi in order the project to fully fit Rike development plan.
