he Batumi Yapitex, a building, construction and technology exhibition, presented more than 70 Turkish companies to the Georgian building industry November 17-21.

The fair was organized by the ICF Fair & Organizations Company, where visitors had the chance to see the newest technology and products in the building-construction industry. This included construction machinery, spare parts, PVC products, building chemicals, insulation materials, various household equipment, paints and other interior design goods, as well as steel and iron product manufacturers.

According to Utku Bengisu, an industrial engineer at ICF Fair & Organizations Company, the fair was held in Batumi because, “we believe Batumi will be the new Dubai in the near future, as we must follow the changes in the world. We believe that the city is one of the most important and perfect places in the world for any kind of investment,” he clarified.

He also explained that Turkey’s role in Batumi’s construction sector is very strategic, as a lot of Turkish companies have already invested in the city. “We think that the relationship between Turkey and Georgia will grow very fast and we would like to contribute to this process,” he said.

ICF Fair & Organizations Company was established in 2008 in Istanbul. Since then, it has organized building & construction, infrastructure, household, furniture decoration and interior design exhibitions throughout the world. The company works in United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Iran, Algeria, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar and Nigeria.

“We have strong relationships with several investment and manufacturing companies in these countries,” explains Bengisu. “Our staff consists of very experienced professionals. In addition, we have our own designers that we send to different countries to work,” he said.

The organizers expect that Batumi Yapintex will be one of the most important events in the Caucasus region business sector. They also expect the future expansion of the exhibition and plan to invite more visitors and companies from at least 15 other countries.
