The first organized industrial zone [OIZ] is being established in Georgia. Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy of Adjara informs that not a free industrial zone initiated by the previous government but an organized zone will be created in Khelvachauri region [a region in Adjara, an autonomous republic in southwest Georgia].
Beso Bolkvadze notes that the organized industrial zone includes the arrangement of all necessary infrastructure that can interest the investor.
In his words, unlike the free zone, there will not be tax benefits for investors in the organized industrial zone. At this stage the project is under consideration and work on finding finances is in progress. The project is to be implemented by 2014.
