Several international brands are currently represented on the fast food market in Tbilisi, among them McDonald’s and Texas Chicken, while Subway will begin operating in September. An official spokesman for Subway has told TV3 that while they will regard McDonald’s as their main competitor on the Georgian market, the two brands have their own clientele globally, serving different segments of the population, and they expect to see similar trends develop in Georgia. A spokesman for Texas Chicken has stated that the fast food market is growing in Georgia, with every player having its own clientele. Finally, the Director General of McDonald’s has said that the company has been holding its own niche on the market for 15 years, and is not planning to relinquish its positions.
