Co-Investment Fund to Finance the Development of the Tourist Sector

Top range hotels in Tbilisi, medium range hotels in the province, and the improvement of health and leisure resorts – one of the main priorities for the Co-Investment Fund will be to finance the tourist sector. Experts from the area have given their reaction to the fund’s plans. The Executive Director of Borjomi Palace Shalva Alaverdashvili has told TV3 that the financing of the construction of provincial hotels is one of the major aspects of the fund’s stated priorities. According to him, there is currently a deficit in mid-range hotels in the provinces, which needs legislative changes. Construction of all types of hotels across the capital is also necessary according to Mr. Alaverdashvili, who also sees the prospects of developing the health and leisure resorts in a positive light.The expert Koba Arabuli has also spoken about the need for the development of the resorts, and has stated that the construction of both medium and lower range hotels is necessary to attain real progress in the tourist sector. According to him, the Co-Investment Fund ought to provide other tourist services along with the already planned projects.
