Which Investors to Build a Hotel on "Mikhailov Hospital " Area, still Unknown

A 5 - star hotel will be built on the territory of a former " Mikhailov Hospital"  in Tbilisi. The Ministry of Economic Development does not name investors but confirms the interests of certain business groups and explains that the Ministry will refrain from naming investors until the issue is agreed with investors.

 
According to Deputy Economy Minister Dmitry Kumsishvili, a process of the business group selection will be transparent and the population will receive information in this regard.

 

Note: The Economy Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili states that negotiations regarding construction of  several 5 - star hotels in Tbilisi are underway, including a hotel  located in the former "Mikhailov Hospital " area located on Agmashenebeli Avenue, in which  several business groups expressed their interest. He says the investors' interest has increased in the recent period and a special attention is paid to ski resorts. In particular, a project worth 250 million USD is planned to implement in Gudauri.


 
The Head of Labor and Ecology Research Institute located in the territory of the former "Mikhailov Hospital" explains to сommersant.ge that neither an  investor nor Ministry of Economy has started negotiations  with them, but the institution is not going to concede the area and the only condition under  which they will start negotiations with potential investors is  if the Institute is saved.
