"Tetnuldi" Hotel Owner: Tourism Administration does not Advertise Mestia Resort |

 Mestia complains about a low activity of tourists in winter season. A Tourism Information Center in Mestia informs ''Commersant” that the season will officially open on December 26-28 . They say last month 263 visitors visited Mestia, reservations were made only in 2-3 hotels and only a few hotels are waiting for tourists on the New Year holidays. One ski and a cableway are in operation in Mestia at this point. Cost of cableway services has increased compared to last year from 15 to 20 GEL. The owner of one of the largest hotels in Mestia “Tetnuldi'' says that the National Tourism Administration doesn’t carry out advertising of Mestia resort that is reflected in the tourism activity. According to Tezo Japaridze, the snow has already come in Mestia and the ski trails are open, but a flow of tourists is not observed. In their words, 10-15 % of rooms in ''Tetnuldi” hotel are booked on the New Year. As for prices, they are similar to last year’s : a standard room price with two meals starts from 100 USD and is increasing due to services.
