A part of famous Georgian businessmen consider the failure of  KhudonHPP  project unacceptable. A 700 -megawatt hydropower plant estimated at  one billion 200 thousand USD is planned to be built in the village of Khaishi in Svaneti.

The locals and some non-governmental organizations oppose the project  claiming  that the HPP will cause ecological catastrophe . "PSP" founder Kakha  Okriashvili believes that KhudonHPP should not sacrifice the  interests of one village. He says that new villages should be built, compensation should be paid to Khaisi residents, but they should not be able to block such an important project like KhudonHPP .

"Wissol Group" President Soso Pkhakadze says  that the construction of KhudonHPP is  a state policy and the government should decide its  fate.

Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board of "TBC Bank"  Badri Japaridze believes that first of all Khaishi residents should be convinced of the importance of the project. In his opinion, this is a very important project that deserves to be comprehended very seriously by everyone.
