”The forecast of the government of Georgia on economic growth in 2014 remains unchanged, "-  said Finance Minister Nodar Khaduri.

According to him, the government still says that by the end of 2014 the country’s economic growth will be at least 5%.

"Data on the first quarter are encouraging and confirms a feasibility of forecasts both by the Georgian government and the World Bank. In this case, the source is the growth of exports and the activities of the private sector. Our plan has not changed. We also say that there will be at least 5% economic growth, however, the first quarter gives us grounds for more optimistic hopes. Economic growth amounted in January to 8.2, in February - about 5.5, and in March exceeded 8 percent. On quarterly data, economic growth rate amounts to 7.4 percent. However, this is preliminary data, and I hope, will be specified by the direction of growth," - said Nodar Khaduri.
