A presentation of new passenger rope roads project in Chiatura, which is to be held on May13, will be attended by the French President Francois Hollande, - commersant.ge was told by Chiatura Deputy Governor Valery Kapanadze.
The Foreign Ministry reports that the French President's visit to Georgia is scheduled for May 13.
As for the rope roads construction process, Kapanadze notes that the construction will start after the project presentation but still dismantling of the existing rope-way, which is already 50 years old and amortized, will be carried out.
According to him, the French company Poma will invest 14 million euro in the new rope roads construction.
The issue on investments carried out by Poma, the world's leading company in the field of rope-way construction, was decided at the government level yet last year. With the support of the Prime Minister of Georgia, the French company will finance the construction of four lanes road. Rope-way will be modernized with modern technique that will provide proper work of the network.
