Is there a threat of imposing  next embargo on Georgian products by Russia? Georgian businessmen are speaking about  possible risks.

Some of them prefer abstaining from exports to the Russian market , while others are reducing exports and strengthening market diversification policy.

According to the representative of the mushroom-producing  company "White hat ", the entrepreneurs say that after the signing of the  Association Agreement with Europe,  Russia will impose the next embargo on Georgian goods. It is known that Russia has already created problems for Moldovan exporters.

The government of Georgia has no answer about the possible risks, though, Prime Minister's Personal Representative for Relations with Russia Zurab Abashidze told commersant.ge that Georgian businessmen should forget the word "guarantee” they liked so much in today's world. "There is some risk around the world, we cannot change this. Risk is part of business, but we must try to reduce these risks, including trade and economic, "- he notes.

Taking into account risk reduction, Abashidze welcomes the position of exporters about the market diversification. In his words, the exporters desire not to be dependent on one  market  is right approach and  this attitude should be maintained .

Abashidze says  that the opening of  the 500 - million European  market is  government’s main task as well as keeping liberal trade relations with Russia , which would give  a great choice to the Georgian business.

As it is known, Georgia will sign the Association Agreement with the EU and the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement (DCFTA) on June 27.

Russian media have been asked the question: how will the abovementioned agreement affect the Russian - Georgian relations?

Prime Minister's special representative for relations with Russia Zurab Abashidze replied: "We have received a clear signal that Moscow calmly looks at  our treaty with the EU. We are told that we should not expect any pressure . We hope so. "

Moreover, in Abashidze's opinion, the agreement with the EU could be interesting for Russian capital, for which Georgia will become a bridge to Europe.
