The government will save 15 million GEL  giving up the idea of the golden sand beach and replacing it on the  river sand - the Infrastructure Ministry states. According to them, the golden sand, which periodically requires updating, will be replaced on a local material.

The initiative of arrangement of a golden sand beachbelongs to ex - President Mikheil Saakashvili.Commenting on the topic, the Infrastructure MinisterDavid Narmania claims that  80 million GEL were allocated for the arrangement of the golden sand beach, while  its annual maintenance costs would bemore than 3 million. 
 

Narmania notes that the golden sand was removed from the project as a whole and replaced on  thelocal river sand.
