Georgian Incoming Tour Operators' Association Talks about Decline in Tourists

Compared to the same period of  last year, the number of tourists has reduced in Georgia in the summer season and in regions hotels announcediscountdue to the low activity.

Whether  the National Tourism Administration sharesthis opinion and  what do  this year’s statistics showcompared to the same period of  last year?

 

Administration officials say that the number of international arrivals in Georgia in 6 months amounted to 2 243 362, that is 2% more than in the same period of the previous year. 
 

Counting the number of tourists, the National Tourism Administration was guided by  the World Tourism Organization's methodology. As per Interior Ministry’s data, for 6- month period  in total 864 193 tourists stayed in Georgia for  longer than 24 hours that is 8% higher than in the previous year.


"Dynamics of international arrivals in 2014 is going according to plan. The majority of visitors are expected to enter the country in August, which will further  raise the growth rate, "- the Tourism Administration states.
