After a 4-member delegation of the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Control "Rosselkhoznadzor" ended a week-long trip in Georgia, nectarines and peaches exports to Russia have intensified. According to the National Food Agency, 3 500 tons of the products have been exported since July 9-10.
They also says that Russian experts examined Georgia's exports, also got acquainted with the quality of implementation of phytosanitary standards and gave a positive conclusion, so a repeat visit is not scheduled.
As for the companies’ interest, the Food Agency says after Russia increased a list of goods imported from Georgia, the companies’ activity has increased and except for peaches, potatoes, watermelons, granberries and other products are exported to this market.
Companies who want to export agricultural products should apply to the National Food Agency where products will be checked and a corersponding act will be issued, the next stage will be the preparation of customs documents.
"Rosselkhoznadzor" representatives visited Georgia on June 23.
Recall that Georgian products of a high phytosanitary risk have been included in the list of export products such as new potatoes, tomatoes, cucumbers, cabbage, eggplant, cherry, cherries, apricots, peaches, plums, persimmons, kiwi and berries on May 26. The year before, for low-risk products- tea, laurel, dried fruit, nuts, citrus, grapes, apples, pears and quinces were allowed into the Russian market.
