Real estate agencies complain about a reduction in their activity by almost 95%.

According to the agency "Beruka”, demand both for purchase and rental housing has fallen sharply; in comparison with the summer period of 2013, this summer it fell by 95%.
Director  of the Agency Avtandil Gugeshashvili states  "Commersant" that this is due to the political and economic situation in the country.

"In the summer the demand for rental apartments was  virtually zero, with regard to the purchase, the interest was mainly showed by  the citizens of Georgia mainly to small and relatively cheap apartments in the center of Tbilisi. In general, the price of apartments increased by 20-25% n 2014. We look forward to the increased demand in the fall, "- he says.

"Erdo Group"  also talks about a sharp decline in demand in the summer.

According to them,  in June-August 2014 the demand for real estate has fallen by almost 50% compared to the same period of 2013.
"In general, demand for housing always reduces  in the summer, but this summer the situation was worse than usual. We also look forward to greater sales in September. The trend is already visible, and it is primarily concerned with small apartments – both  in terms of  sale and lease. In comparison with 2013, property prices rose by an average of 20%, "- said in " Erdo Group”.
