Department of Tourism and Resorts forecasts an increase in the flow of tourists along with bird -watching tourism development.
The Black Sea coast, specifically, Batumi surroundings, Khelvachauri and Kobuleti municipality villages are one of the most narrow migration corridor for birds of prey where more than 1 000 000 migrating birds are recorded each year.
Due to this fact, the abovementioned places are the third in the world to observe migration of birds. They are known as "the Eastern Black Sea migration corridor".
Special platforms are arranged for tourists where anyone can watch migratory birds.
In autumn, 35 species of migratory birds of prey are flying here from Scandinavia, Central Asia and the Russian forests to spend winter in South Africa.
