The European Investment Bank (EIB) will open a regional office in Georgia.The European Investment Bank (EIB) Vice-President Wilhelm Molterer stated at a meeting with the Minister of Finance of Georgia which was held in the frames of his visit to Washington.
As he noted, it is very important that the bank willstart to carry out the regional projects from Tbilisi. "The opening of the regional office will possibly make EIB more active in terms of financing of investment projects in both the public and private sectors," - said the Minister of Finance Nodar Khaduri.
The meeting also touched on the issues on the Georgian government’s economic policy and the future prospects of assistance to Georgia.
The European Investment Bank is carrying out significant investments in areas such as water and road infrastructure, energy, agriculture, health and education.
