The government will  allocate GEL 17.1 million in the coming year for  promotion  of tourism that is  35% more  compared with 2014.

It should be noted that in 2016-2017 the funding will reach GEL 13 million again.

According to the government, the development of tourism infrastructure and new tourism products, as well as the diversification of the existing ones will be encouraged. Regular surveys will be conducted to identify and overcome the main factors that hinder tourism development, service quality and growth.

It was  noted in the  budget that the Government's aim is to turn  Georgia  into a regional hub for international events and for this purpose conference tourism (MICE tourism) development will be encouraged.

A particular attention will be paid to the development of tourism at the regional level, service quality improvement, and promotion of small and medium tourism business; as well as  the development of medium price  hotels and guest houses.
