In the First Half of the Year, Georgia’s Earnings from International Tourism Amounted to USD 750 Mln

In the first half of 2014, Georgia’s earnings from the international tourism amounted to USD750 million. This figure makes 43% of international tourism receipts in 2013.

 

According to the Ministry of Economy, in the second quarter the share of tourism in GDP amounted to 7.2%, while in the first quarter this figure made 5.98%.

 

In 2013, the  country earned  more than USD  1.719 billion from  the international tourism.
 

The number of international arrivals amounted to 5 392 303 million in 2013, which is 22% higher than the 2012 figure (4 428 221).
 

For  9 months of the current year, the number of international travelers reached 4 187 595.
