Gov’nt will Try to Attract Investment in Regions Next Year

In the coming year Ministry of Economy will focus on the regions in terms of  attracting investment. "Commersant" was told by Deputy Minister Keti Bochorishvili. According to her, the government will attract and meet investors and develop hotels of various  types.

Bochorishvili  says that the Economy Ministry is constantly working with investors. He cites the example of Tskaltubo and says that the package of the resort’s development plan will be created in the near future.


It is known that the Partnership Fund along with  an international consulting company Kohl & Partner unveiled a research devoted to  the resort’s opportunities  and a development concept of Tskaltubo in early December.

 

According to the concept,  the Tskaltubo resort  rehabilitation will consist of two phases.  It will last for a few years and will include thermal baths recovery, the state-owned hotels rehabilitation, construction of hotels equipped with modern and medical equipment, medical and spa tourism development, construction of children's entertainment centers and water attractions, restaurants development, golf playing fields arrangement,  opening  of shopping centers and building of tropical garden.

 

In the words of Kovzanadze, along with  the Economy Ministry, the Fund’s aim is to turn Tskaltubo into the capital of a medical and spa center in Eastern Europe by 2030.  


In late November, the Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said that development of the regions would  be one of the priorities. In his words,   in the near future the government will present the concept of regional development.

 

Along with that, the Prime Minister called on businessmen to actively engage in the process of regional development.
