OPIC to Finance Radisson Hotel Construction

The American International Investment Agency will finance the construction of the Radisson hotel in Tsinandali in the East Georgia.

 

The hotel will have 104 rooms, the cost of the project which will be carried out by the Georgian company Silk Road Group makes $ 10 million. Construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2016, the object will be managed by  Carlson Rezidor  Hotel  Groups.

 

Silk Road management  hopes that the construction of the  hotel in Tsinandali will have a positive impact on the economic development of the region – currently it’s one of the sparsely populated parts of the country  where  there is only 35 residents per 1 km2. The project will boost tourism, develop infrastructure and create  new jobs.

In 2009-2011, the company Silk Road built  a hotel in Tbilisi and Batumi, in addition, it’s planned to build another hotel, which will be located in a former telegraph building in the city center. The company is also implementing several projects in the center of Tbilisi - a three-storey restaurant, underground parking, etc.

 

Silk Road Group company was established in the 90s and originally dealt mainly with freight, but after 2004 it had business interests in various sectors of the economy. The company currently operates in the markets of telecommunications, real estate, energy and tourism.
