Tetnuldi to Take First Tourists at the End of the Year

Tetnuldi  ski resort ( a prominent peak in the central part of theGreater Caucasus Mountain Range, located in the Svanetiregion of Georgia) will take the first tourists in December 2015. The project is managed by "Tetnuldi" company.

Ski lift   infrastructure is provided by the French company "Pomagalski". Cableways  installation is carried out by the Austrian company "RMS".

The company’s Director  Uka Kiladze states  "Commersant" that 75% of the works have been completed. Works are carried out by the  State Construction Company Ltd.


In the words of  Kiladze, the project is being implemented with the financial assistance of the French Government and the Government of Georgia. The French government allocated a credit of 18 million euros, while the government of Georgia carries out activities worth 100 million. He notes that  the resort’s direct and indirect revenues will go to  the state and local budgets.

Kiladze explains that the resort has a total area of 7 000 hectares where the mountain area – 4 500 hectares  and basic space - 450 h. The total length of the ski trails is 169 km,  the total number of cable cars - 20-22 units. The highest ski point is located 3 600 meters above sea level and the lowest-  1 600 meters.

 

According to calculations, the resort will be able  to serve  4 100 skiers at the same time,  the ski lift total capacity – 8 400 people / hour, the resort's tourist capacity-  6 806 people.
