Another decision was made in favor of the "Panorama Tbilisi"  project - the  City Hall has changed the coefficient for the former "Tsekavshiri”  area, which allows  the owner  to erect  a multi-storey building.

As reported, the authors are planning to build a five-star hotel.

The area in the city center, adjacent to the cultural heritage is already ready  for  a?? large-scale construction.  Opponents associate another decision taken in favor of  “Panorama Tbilisi" with Bidzina  Ivanishvili.

No member of the special commission under the City Hall has made explanations on this subject yet. The City Council Chairman also refused to comment.

According to reports, the hotel will have 241 rooms. In the case if the City Hall hadn’t increased a coefficient for this area, then there would have been 100 rooms in the hotel instead of 241.

The report prepared by specialists as a result of the study conducted by the order of the project authors states that it is not appropriate to use this area for  the multi-functional and multi- storey building.

After getting acquainted with architecture of another construction in the frames of "Panorama Tbilisi", specialists point the authors to the law on cultural heritage.  According to them, activities that harm or endanger the monument in the area of the cultural heritage is prohibited.

"Unfortunately, the authors of the project, architects, as well as the customer  do not consider the only factor  which is calledthe Tbilisi Historic District," - Tsira Elisashvili, the "Tiflis Hamqari" representative, says.

Neither "Panorama Tbilisi”  authors nor  funders have made comment regarding the construction.
