In April 2015, Number of Foreign Visitors Increased 0.4%

In April 2015 the number of foreign visitors in  Georgia has increased by 0.4% and amounted to 394 634.


According to the Georgian Interior Ministry, in January-April 2015 the country was visited by 1.381 million people, which is 1% less than in the same period of 2014.

Among the visitors were  491 378 tourists (35% of the total number, and 6% less than in the same period of 2014), 591 083-  for transit purposes - (42, 8%, 3% more).

 

Turkey leads  by the number of visitors (a decrease of 1, 7%), followed by Azerbaijan (+8), Armenia (- 1, 3%), Russia (- 0, 7%), Ukraine (-17%). A positive growth trend of visitors from Europe  maintains, in particular, Lithuania, Germany and the UK (67%, 42%, 14%), the Central Asian countries such as Uzbekistan (101%), Kazakhstan (29%).

The number of visitors from Belarus and Moldova increased by  37% and 28%  respectively.
 

The number of visitors from the United Arab Emirates increased  54%.
