Ukrainian airline YanAir is renewing flights between the capital cities of Georgia and Ukraine for the summer tourist season.

From today Kiev-Tbilisi-Kiev flights will be carried out twice per week.

The airline will fly into capital Tbilisi as well as Georgia’s seaside resort town Batumi, where flights will be performed initially twice per week then increased to three times per week from July 2.

These two flight services will complement the airline’s current presence in Georgia. Already YanAir performed charter flights between Batumi and Odessa, a seaside city in Ukraine.

The Ukrainian airline first entered the Georgian market in August 2014 for the summer season. Last year it performed regular Kiev-Tbilisi and Kiev-Batumi flights but these were stopped once the season ended.

However during the 2014 summer season YanAir carried 3,174 passengers from Kiev to Tbilisi and back. Additionally, the airline transported 7,467 passengers on a return trip between Kiev and Batumi.

YanAir is one of several Ukrainian airlines that carry out flights between Ukraine and Georgia. Other Ukrainian carriers on this route include Ukrainian Airlines, Dart Airlines and Dniproavia Airways.
