The working group, which includes representatives of government agencies, experts and business environment, will finalize the strategy for the development of Small and Medium Enterprises in Georgia before the end of 2015.
The aim of the strategy is to encourage those types of entrepreneurial activity, increase their competitiveness and share in GDP. The document's authors believe that it is the accelerated development of small and medium-sized businesses that will create new jobs and alleviate the problem of unemployment.
The program is designed for 2016-2020 years.
According to Deputy Economy Minister Irma Kavtaradze, it includes several priorities and concrete measures for their development, including the creation of institutional frameworks, the creation of a competitive environment, the internationalization of small and medium-sized enterprises, an increase of the accessibility to finances, introduction of innovations and promotion of different kinds of research.
The strategy will take into account the main European principles of stimulating small and medium-sized businesses.
