Leading American hospitality company Marriott International will open a 38-storey multifunctional complex under the name Alliance Palace in Georgia’s Black Sea town Batumi.
Plans revealed the new hotel will be architecturally modern, cost 65 million GEL to build and be located in the seaside boulevard and near the city’s elite district, close to the Justice House building.
The Alliance Palace complex will be the first project that brings together an international brand hotel and residential apartments. The new complex will open within two years.
The foundation stone laying ceremony was held at the site yesterday and attended by high government officials, including Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili.

The PM welcomed the Marriott hotel brand to Batumi and said it was an "extraordinary project” for the resort town.
The architect-designer of this unusual project is Mindia Gurgenidzet, who is endorsed by our American partners. This will be an Alliance Palace hotel and apartments … where 1,700 local residents will be employed [during the building phase] and once operating the complex will have 600 employees permanently,” Garibashvili said.
Recent, ongoing and future developments in the Adjara region was something PM Garibashvili spoke about at the opening today’s ceremony. He supported the development of the hotel sector and noted within the next three years 20 new hotels will be built in the region, of which four had already opened this year.
In total the investment cost of these hotels is $700 million USD. Batumi is becoming more and more beautiful. This year Batumi enjoyed a record number of visitors,” Garibashvili said.
