Batumi welcomes $30m multifunctional complex

Two five-star hotels will be built in Georgia’s Black Sea town Batumi within a $30 million USD investment project that will further improve the touristic potential of the resort town.

Details of multifunctional complex, named White Sail, revealed local firm ARmeridans Ltd will invest $30 million USD (about 71 million GEL) in the project.

When complete the White Sail complex will include two five-star hotels, six apart-hotels, a casino, conference hall, sports hall, food facilities and recreation zone.

Georgia’s Economy Minister Dimitri Kumsishvili attended the project presentation yesterday. He welcomed the construction of the facility in Batumi and added it would benefit the town and help attract more tourists.


He noted Foreign Direct Investments (FDIs) was positively growing in the region, according to data from the second quarter of the year.

All this proves the Georgian Government is following the right polity. We have new projects and investments for every region,” Kumsishvili added.

At least 300 people will be employed during the project’s construction phase. Once built the complex will employ 250 staff, 80 percent of who will be Georgian citizens.
