After Kutaisi and Poti, Free Industrial Zone to be Established in Tbilisi

A free industrial zone   Technological Park will be established in Tbilisi. According to the  government’s decree, the industrial zone will be built on 17 hectares in the Gldani district. The FIZ validity period is 49 years. Administrator of the industrial zone will be  "Georgia Technology  Park Ltd". The  new industrial zone should be put into operation  no later than November 30. FIZ operator is obliged to ensure the conditions necessary for the zone’s functioning.
 
According to the government's decree, until February 2016, the zone operator "Georgia technology Park Ltd" is obliged tosubmit the FIZ development plan to the Ministry of Economy .
 
BiTfury investment company announced about the arrangement of the technological mega center  in Gldani this summer. BiTfury purchased  185 000 square meters of land in the Gldani district from  the National Agency . BiTfury is the first company that has acquired a land in the technology park where  it will build a mega data center  which will work with the latest technologies. BiTfury CEO  Valery Vavilov says that they are pleased to launch  a new project in Georgia which involves a new technological zone  in order to attract the modern players to  the technology sector, as well as to build a mega-data center.
 
He notes that  the decision to invest was taken considering the company's past experience in Georgia. BiTfury already owns a data center in Gori, which was implemented jointly with the Georgian  Co-investment Fund.

 
At this stage the free industrial zones are operating  in Kutaisi and Poti. The government also announced the creation of an industrial zone in Anaklia .
