President Of Georgia: Georgia Will Connect With Europe Via Direct Rail Line

Georgia will connect with Europe via a direct rail line in exactly one year. Georgian President made this statement in Istanbul while meeting the sailors released from Somali pirates’ captivity along with  Turkish Prime Minister. According to Mikheil Saakashvili, the Baku - Tbilisi - Kars railway, which Georgia is building with Turkey and Azerbaijan, will bring the first passengers in Europe in 2013. Accordingly, the President said that Turkey was Georgia’s window in Europe.

Along with that, Georgia’s President says, close cooperation with Turkey provides for Georgian economy development. As we know, Tbilisi has taken a loan of more than 700 million USD from Azerbaijan in order to implement this project.
