Premium-class hotel Crowne Plaza will be opened in Batumi at the end of 2016. According to Valery Chekheria, General Director of Adjara Group Hospitality who operates Holiday Inn Tbilisi, Rooms Tbilisi, Rooms Kazbegi hotels, active works are underway.
"At this point, we try to focus as much as possible at "Intercontinental " hotel in Tbilisi. However, works have not been stopped in Batumi as well. We suppose that these two hotels will open one after another and Crowne Plaza will be opened by the end of next year ", - Valery Chekheria notes.
According to him, the total cost of the project will exceed $ 20 million.
Initially, it was planned to be built Holiday Inn hotel in Batumi. However, later Valery Chekheria announced the construction of Crowne Plaza hotel instead of Holiday Inn.
In Chekheria’s words, Holiday Inn will not be able to compete with such hotels as Radisson, Sheraton, Hilton. Therefore, to make the market more competitive, it was decided to choose a relatively upscale hotel brand.
Crowne Plaza, as well as Holiday Inn, is the InterContinental Hotels Group member and is known as the brand focused on the conference concept. A 5-storey hotel that will consist of 173 rooms will be also calculated for relatively high-income segment.
Valery Chekheria notes that the company always offers special products differing from other hotels. Therefore, a different restaurant, spa and pool will be placed on the roof of the hotel.
