Ryanair Confirms its Interests in the Georgian Market

Irish low-cost airline is interested in adding new destinations. The letter sent to "Commersant" by Ryanair representative says that  "the company is looking  for new destinations  but at the moment they don’t  make a comment regarding the commercial negotiations, including with Georgia.

 

Georgia's Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili talkled about the Irish carrier’s entry  into the Georgian market while delivering  his  speech in the Parliament. The Prime Minister mentioned Vizair’s  wide scale entry into the market. According to Giorgi Kvirikashvili, 7- 8 new European destinations are planned  to add at  the Kutaisi international airport.

 

In his words,  intense negotiations were conducted with the Irish carrier Ryanair and he expressed hope that this process would  be completed successfully and another  large low-cost airline would  fly from Kutaisi airport.

 

Ryanair is Europe's number one low-cost airline. According to the reports, the government is also actively negotiating withEasyJet, AirBerlin.

 

Hungarian  "Vizair " and Turkish "Pegasus" low-cost airlines have entered the Georgian  market in recent years, which significantly reduced the cost of   air traffic  from Georgia.
