According to the National Tourism Administration at the Ministry of Economy, in 2015 Georgia was visited by a record number of foreign visitors – a report released by the Administration reads.

According Giorgi Chogovadze, Director of the National Tourism Administration,  a total number of visitors in the previous year  amounted  to 5 897 685 people.

 During this period, the National Administration of Tourism has organized introductory  visits to Georgia for  400 foreign media representatives and 150 tour operators.

"In order to create a new tourism infrastructure , bike parks will be built  in Bakuriani and Gudauri, in addition, 1 100 representatives of the Tourism Administration will undergo professional training in 15 cities. In  2016,  Tbilisi will host the  International Wine Tourism  Conference under the auspices of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).  The National Tourism Administration will also conduct marketing campaigns in 20 target countries, and will take part in 21 international tourism exhibitions, "- Giorgi Chogovadze notes.

In his words, a number of events will be held to stimulate domestic tourism, in particular, new data centers will be opened as well as  small-scale infrastructure projects will be carried out, etc.
