In 2016-2017 , a total of 13 modern hotels which will be in full compliance with international standards will start operating in Georgia.
According to the National Tourism Administration, 7 additional hotels , in particular, Hilton Garden Inn, Park Inn by Radisson, Millennium Hotel, Rixos, Hyatt Regency, Moxy Mariott and Intercontinental will be built in Tbilisi.
Four hotels will be located in Batumi, such as Crowne Plaza, Babylon Tower, Cube tower and Princess.
Radisson Blu Resort hotel will be built in Tsinandali while Best Western- in Kutaisi .
According to the Administration, 19 new hotels have opened in Georgia in 2015 and the number of hotel rooms in the capital has increased by 3 200.
"As of 2015, the number of registered hotels of all categories totaled 1 475, the number of rooms - 51 381. Tbilisi with 13 186 rooms leads in this regard, as it’s 25, 6% of the total number of hotel rooms in Georgia, followed by Adjara region - 11 293 hotel rooms (22%)," - the report says.
At the same time, it should be noted that a large number of beds are not registered , as, for example in Adjara, many family-type hotels are located in private houses, and generally are not registered.
In addition, a considerable number of tourists rent rooms in ordinary residential houses or apartments.
